Liza has been feeling weak for months and would catch a cold very easily. After thorough examinations the doctors determined the reason for Liza’s sudden poor health. On May 22nd, 2009 Liza Pustelnik was diagnosed with Mucoviscidose (aka Cystic fibrosis, read more from Wikipedia). Although technically a rare disease, cystic fibrosis is ranked as one of the most widespread life-shortening genetic diseases. One of Liza’s parent, as it turned out, is a carrier of one gene for CF.
The results of examinations shocked her parents; moreover, the doctor added that the disease was not treatable and they could not do anything to help poor child. But the parents didn’t want to give up so soon and after conducting some research they found out that there are therapies and drugs (more information here) that can help their child. Unfortunately it all cost money and after scrambling all they had they didn’t have enough to afford proper treatment for Liza. They decided t ask for help.
